Superhero Kicks Baddies on Blu-Ray

Thousands of devotees throng to a temple and lay down their economic woes and complain about wrong doings of criminals. And the very day they are taken care of and how? A super hero who raises goose bumps as a caped crusader dressed as a rooster with his intriguing strut, batman like stunts and a golden mask that reveals only the glint in his eyes torments criminals and delivers justice. This is Kanthaswamy.
Vikram, or Chiyaan, as he is fondly referred to among his fans plays a CBI sleuth, who during day chases the baddies (Ashish Vidyarthi & Co) to recover their black money and during night transforms himself to a superhero that fights for the common man’s justice.
This 3 hour 15 minute caper, which released last season, is all about good v/s bad and is delivered with punch and a host of special effects making it an ideal viewing sensation on Blu-ray Discs which have been released recently.
The fight sequences, especially the blind-folded action scenes in Mexico, are breathtaking. The innovative camera angles and lighting by cinematographer NK Ekambaram make the film visually stunning. Thotta Dharani's art work is also awesome. Devi Sri Prasad's music goes with the movie's mood. Two of the six songs – Excuse me Mr. Kandasamy and Yen Peru Meenakumari – have been picturised well.
Vikram is more invigorated in each and every frame. And indeed, you get to spot him smarter with trimmed looks. He astounds us with his different-shaded characterizations and keeps us entertained. Other notable performances include Prabhu and Vadivel, all of which can be enjoyed at your home with your favourite snack. Of course Shriya and Susi Ganesh are two more reasons for one to feast their eyes on this big budget blockbuster from Kollywood.
Kanthaswamy is for those looking for sheer entertainment and is best viewed on Blu-ray. Go to
